Alabama fans split on defense after blowout season-opening win

Fans on r/rolltide debate Alabama's defense after a lopsided win in the season opener, with some arguing the first-half effort was solid and that a faster pace naturally inflates opponent possessions and points. Others worry about open corner 3-pointers and say giving up 70-plus points per game will limit the team in SEC play. Several posters counter that forcing 23 turnovers and holding the opponent to 38% shooting is a strong defensive showing, and that the pace-adjusted numbers compare well with recent Alabama teams.
