Kentucky basketball lineup debate centers on point guard
Writing for A Sea of Blue, the author argues Kentucky’s best early-season starting lineup is becoming clear after the UCF win. The author says Mason Williams should start at point guard over Zoom Diallo because Williams protects the ball better and has outplayed him, while Alex Wilkins fits at shooting guard despite turnover concerns. Milan Momcilovic is described as the roster’s best player, and Ousmane N’Diaye gets a narrow edge over Justin McBride at power forward for defense and loose-ball play, though his shooting must improve.

Alabama basketball preview weighs bigger roster, chemistry questions
Writing for Roll 'Bama Roll, the author previews Alabama's 2026-27 men's basketball roster and argues that Nate Oats rebuilt the frontcourt to address size and rebounding concerns. The piece frames the Tide as deep and physically imposing, with Aden Holloway and Amari Allen as established stars and Drew Fielder adding perimeter shooting from the frontcourt. It also raises questions about how quickly the newcomers will mesh, whether Alabama can improve defensively without losing its uptempo identity, and who will become the third scoring option.

Florida fans weigh top-100 talent against depth concerns
Fans on r/FloridaGators are encouraged that all five likely starters appear in ESPN's top 100 men's basketball players, but many see bench depth as the main question. Commenters note that recent exhibition showings raised concerns about three-point shooting, turnovers, and free throws, while expecting rebounding to be a strength. Several argue the team needs time to gel and should be judged more by tournament readiness than by an SEC title, though expectations remain very high.
